I just recived a notice that I had a personel message. So I clicked the link, logged in and there were no new messages? I then went to the board and looked at a few posts then re-checked the messages, nothing. I then logged out, went back to the pm e-mail, clicked it, logged in and still nothing?

Anybody else ever have this happen???

The personal messages are not quite the same as e-mail. When you compose a PM and hit "Submit", the message goes into your Outbox, but it does not go from your Outbox to your Sentbox until the recipient reads it.

While the message is in your Outbox, you (the sender) can edit it or delete it.

It sounds like somebody sent you a PM (which triggered the e-mail notification as soon as they hit Submit) but then deleted it from their own Outbox before you had a chance to read it.

I've never had to edit a pm, only posts.

Actually, it's the other way around, Jeff.

If someone sends you a PM, they can delete the PM before you read it. Because you have "Notify on Private Messages" turned on, you'll get the email but when you go check your private messages, you'll find no new ones.

If you'd like to try it, drop me a PM & We'll do some experimenting.
