Hi Dan, Looking really good! Looks like your migration went well. May be my imagination, but everything seems faster. I like how you have that Announcements category and you have new and older posts on how to register- great! May encourage more "lurkers" to post.

Also, I just attached a pic DIRECTLY from my computer! Wow, this is a fantastic feature, Glad to get away from Photo hosting site.
BTW, this is Big Caliente Hot Springs-Riverside Pool

Now I'll try a Youtube:

The funktion for forgotton pass-words doesn't work any longer.

The funktion "remember me" doesn't work any longer.

People, which are not loged in, will see nothing, but the log-in funktion.

Furthermore I miss all the europe and south-america topics.

Thank you, I will look into it. What issue were you having with it?
Neptun wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2017 3:46 amThe funktion "remember me" doesn't work any longer.
This is known and an ongoing problem that I am working on.

This is intentional. With the addition of allowing photos to be uploaded, preventing non-registered users from viewing the post was done to help keep the bandwidth usage down, especially for malicious bots that will download the entire site multiple times a day. I am working on a solution that is somewhere in-between right now...

Thanks for the reminder! I had forgotten to move the post from the old topic to the new! But don't worry, all the post are still there! Check out: Other Countries and Continents (I really should come up with a better name).

Thanks!

The 'Remember Me' issue as well as the issue with the forum logging you out when you stray away should be fixed! You may need to clear your old cookies by clicking on the 'Delete all board cookies' link in the extreme lower right corner of this page (it will log you out, sorry!). Let me know if anyone is still having issues!

Hello Soaker Dan,

I am afrait, SF will get no new members as long as guest's can not see anything from SF.

A solution maybe all guest can see the topics and bloggs without Pics and only the registered members can also see the Pics.

By the way, what formats and limitations are for the pics ? Will it be possible to place excel-tables, maps etc.?

regards

Hannah, Boy Scout And Gold Strike HS

Post by Casa Blanca Hot Spring »

Hi,

Though it's near the New Mexico border, Hannah Hot Spring is in Arizona, not New Mexico.

Boy Scout and Gold Strike HS are actually in Nevada, not in Arizona.

Naturally,

Unfortunately, without some custom work, there is no way to block guest from viewing attachments without blocking them from seeing the post. I am working on and testing out another angle though, so stay tuned.

I haven't had a chance to post about attachments yet, which I plan to do in a separate post, but the following file types are accepted up to 3.5MB and 1200x1200px: gif, jpeg, jpg, png, tif, tiff. Using the media tags (the TV screen to the right of the font size) the following sources are able to be posted: Tumblr, Imgur, Amazon, Pinterest, Reddit, Facebook, GoFundMe, Instagram, Twitter, VEVO, Flicker, Google Drive, Vimeo and YouTube.

Looking at my HS map, you are correct! I should have known better, but I quickly grabbed the list from another, wrong, source! There are a few other details I need to correct, thanks for pointing those out.

I believe I'm having a "notification" problem.

User Control Panel/Board Preferences/Edit Notification Options

All boxes are checked but I am not receiving email notifications when someone posts or responds to one of my posts.

Your provider is kicking back the emails as they are being deemed SPAM. I'll work on this, I think there are some things on my end I can do...

I looked at my Comcast SPAM mailbox and it's empty. Since I never get email for Viagra or Russian Brides, I wonder where Comcast is hiding it.

I believe I'll try some Comcast CHAT to see what they say. I wonder how long before I get so frustrated that I throw my computer out the window.

Don't bother with that Jim, it is on my end. Not having some settings on the server setup correctly, Comcast sees soakersforum as SPAM and rejects the email before it even reaches your inbox. I'm working on it right now...

FWIW, we're not receiving notifications either.

Thanks for all the hard work, Dan.

It seems to be fixed. Thanks for what you're doing for all of us, Dan.

Guess I still need to contact Comcast about all those Russian Bride emails I'm missing.

Hey Jim I've got plenty of Russian Brides in my email, but they would rather live where its cold and snowy like back home, so I'll send 'em your way!!

SF Software Update

Post by Casa Blanca Hot Spring »

Most of the photos we want to post go along just fine, but several times now when we click on a photo, it begins to load like others with the green bar moving on the right, then a yellow triangle appears with a "!" in the middle and the photo can't be loaded.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Much.

They might be too large, currently photos are limited to a maximum size of 3.5mb. If you are on a PC, go to the folder where the photo is, right click on it, and look at the size. Let me know if that is the issue.

The photo in question is 520 K in size. It's a jpg. We emailed it to ourselves and it attached just fine, went out, and came in totally viewable.

When we tried to send it in this message this time, the green bar stayed there a bit longer before the triangle appeared, FWIW.
