Japan and the Far East

Post by Bryan C »

Can we break that into just Japan itself, and all other countries/threads there move into All Other Places.

2 reasons. Far East itself is a hard to define term, ie. most of the countries there also fall into SE Asia. Second, those countries were suffered greatly under Japanese occupation during WW2, and by putting them together might trigger something in those people's mind, even if it's not intentional.

Just my two cents here.

Good suggestion! Let's see what I can do.

Done. The bulk of postings pertain to Japan anyway; I created "SE Asia/Far East" and moved two topics.

Ok folks, here's a challenge for you - Let's see more information about Japan in that category, and more information about SE Asia & the Far East in that category!

Soak on!

Thanks. I'll do my part on Taiwan the next few days....

P.S. Don't have the rights to read/post in the new SE Asia/Far East sub-forum.....

I believe I've fixed the permissions. Give it a try and let me know if there's further issues.

Thanks!

Since this suggestion was made, there's been just one thread added to the separate SE Asia/Far East category, "Taiwan Hot Springs", and just one comment added in that thread since late 2011. It's not enough to justify a separate bit of real estate on the index page of the forum. The best thing to do is probably to follow the original suggestion and put those few posts back into "All Other Places". Actually it looks like that "Soaking in Southeast Asia" blog is about the best place to go for info about soaks in that part of the world. Soakers Forum only has a handful of users who have registered from outside the USA or Canada (well, not counting spammers who have been booted...I'm looking at YOU, Pakistan) so the content here is never going to be very extensive outside the area from the Pacific Coasts of those two countries to the Rockies.
