Gotta love our system... the world really needs to be on one "time"... at midnight at GMT, it would be 00:00, and that would be the time around the globe. No timezones, no confusion.
But it would feel real odd to be at 00:00 (12 midnight) in Hawaii when it's actually 10AM in the morning! (confused yet?)

I agree Bruce. Having a universal time can't be any wackier than celebrating Christmas in the summer in Australia;-). At the minimum, we need to be on DST all year round.

Can't be more confusing than when I lived in a small town in Ohio.
The farmers and many stores were on Standard time.
The banks and other stores were on Daylight time.

Bottom line was most people did not know the time.
Agree DST is best. Days are too short now.

Hello Again Everyone,

It confuses the heck out of us; in winter, we're in Arizona and it's an hour later here than California and the same as New Mexico.

In Summer, Arizona is on the same time as California, because most of the state doesn't go on Daylight Savings, but we're in New Mexico which is an hour later than Arizona because it does go on DST.

It's very confusing when trying to figure out what time it is on the east coast so we can call loved ones there at a certain hour.
