Posting Video

Post by MasonTheSoaker »

I was on a similar board (not HS related) and I figured out how to post video from youtube but tried it on this board and it didn't work.
The code was this:

[YT]MlViQzB7QoU[/YT]

That is the youtube address in the middle.

Any info on what makes this work?

Mason, I think the board settings are such that Youtube links (or any links) work fine, but not direct video connects. Bruce could tell you for sure as he is the Admin Tech Man!

In a quick scan of the settings, I haven't found a video setting. There is a section to set up custom bbcodes but I don't have the time resources at present to look into it.

Therefore, for the time being, we are unable do a direct link to youtube video.

Mason, if your other board is running phpBB version 3, please contact the sysadmin on your other board & ask them if they have a custom code or settings for the YT tag. I would expect it has a url setting plus some other characteristics that would need tailoring.

I have links to Video. I've managed to do 2 types, one shows the first frame and the other just shows the URL... But from PhotoBucket...

I'm sure I've seen links to YouTube from SoakersForum also...

Yup this works, just submitted it and now back in edit window.

Hi Tom, yes links to Photobucket, Flickr, Youtube etc work fine! I think Mason was referring to direct video uploading to soakersforum.
