Re: The lettering on my posts

Jeff, did you just have a birthday, your computer knows it, and it's making it easier for your
old and feeble eyes to read?

Re: URL Copying And Pasting (Was "Search Is Over...." In NM)

I've never used the URL button to paste a link.
I just copy [Ctrl-C] the whole address and paste it [Ctrl-V] into the message text. It always then appears as a link.

Re: How to get booted (was: near klamath)

Thanks, fetch, for keeping yourself level.

And I don't recall him offering anything like useful information. Even if he'd posted anything informative, how would one know?
The word Sociopath springs to mind. Just no intention whatsoever to get along with people.

Re: Free for All or Free Advertising

I for one find nothing amiss in this. It's nice to have first crack at something offered, whether or not it comes with a price.

We might have a buy/sell/trade section, though.

Re: Any way to have links open a new tab?

Thanks, Bruce.
I'll eventually remember to do that. Meanwhile, I remember where it's posted.

I'm about ready for some serious thaw.

Any way to have links open a new tab?

When I click on a link within a post, I'd rather not migrate away from SoakersForum. Any way to change this setting?
I don't find such an option in my User Control Panel.

Not surprisingly, I agree with Soaky on this one. ... For those of you who were tired of, or offended by, Soaky's ramblings, the good news for you is I don't think you'll see any more of her. I've long doubted the existence of any woman posting as Soakahontas. Was she the alter-ego of someone else?...

Upon further review ... Maybe the best moderation in a case like this -- people willingly engaged in dialogue irrelevant to hotspringing -- is to move it to another forum. Free for all, basically. If Soaky really 'leaves' over this, that's pretty sad. It wouldn't make Soaky look like she particularl...

Yes, freedom of speech (press, internet) has a quasi-religious attachment to many.
You can't please everyone, Eric.

Eric, I sent you a PM shortly after your post above. I didn't tamper with anything in my Outbox. Did you get it?

In this thread, 15 posts appeared before 'page 2' was started. I assume administrators have set the max number at '15' in some box of options? Is there any way to 'manually' break a thread into pages? That wouldn't be too much editorship, would it? For conversations, fewer posts per page makes it to...

Jeff, I say you do it just about right. Waiting a few minutes for pictures to load is a lot different from waiting a few days. It still seems like a good idea to name the spring(s) you're describing in the title of the thread. That's the only way I can possibly find an account of 'Pine Flats' on the...

The 'stop' button is the only way I can read posts or the captions to pictures. I may never have a chance of seeing the pictures in some of the picture-intense threads being posted. I have even left the computer running all night and not gotten thru them. After temporary cache is emptied, of course,...

Just my two bits as a reader: If more than one hot spring is visited in one 'swoop', list those together. The key (to me) is being able to find the name of the spring in the title of the post. If you checked out several along the road to Atlanta, and some of these were brief, stick them in one post....

Maybe I'm the last person on Earth with dial-up, but that's all I can get here in my berry patch. As such, I just have to give up on posts with mega-images. After 20 seconds or so, I hit the stop button and just read the text. From a thumbnail or other smallish picture, I can almost always tell if I...

miscellany

I am very glad that 'view previous topic' (within a forum) refers to the previous thread, rather than to a later one. I don't like to think backwards if I don't have to. But wouldn't it be better to find the 'view previous' and 'view next' buttons at the bottom of a thread? That's invariably where I...
