Hey everyone,

I finally made it to the elusive August Jacob's Hot Spring! It was my second attempt and a very difficult one.

Great report Dan, glad to see somebody made it there! Not one that many of us will get to!

Wondering if Mr. Dan had wandered off the face of the earth. Nope, he's in Belize, as of Jan. 9, 2010:

That page actually details his hot springing in Idaho, and the trek winds southward from there.
.
If life were supposed to be tough, why would there be hot springs?

Hey guys :)

I'm happy to see you are enjoying my writing. My laptop was broken there for a while, but I'm back on track now. Trust me, I'm still hunting down hot water too :) I just typed up a report on a hot spring that has the most hot water I have ever seen... it will go live on my site in a couple of days :)

I've also heard stories about springs in Ecuador that should put Gold Bug in Idaho to shame.
I'll get there :)

Happy travels, Dan! I had a a former boss who had family living in Quito. They were not really into hot springs, but they did mention Papallacta and Banos hot springs. These are "commercial" and can get crowded, but have beautiful scenery. There is also another developed spring at Chachimbiro. I'm sure there are also natural hot springs there.....and being on the Ring of Fire, both Peru and Chile have some amazing high quality hot springs.
