A friend who used to be a commercial fisherman in WA and AK had once mentioned a place like this, so earlier this year when I came across some photos I sent them to her asking if it looked like the same place.

She said "Yes" and . . .

"I have been looking at the pics of the springs that you sent. Yes, Baranoff is where we were. At the time it was an abandoned village. I was there in 97. Sure was a great surprise to trip across."

She said it was incredible because the springs are on top of a waterfall!
